to Grow Golden Mop Cypress in Virginia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Why did I select Gold Mop Cypress to highlight in October?\u00a0 Gold Mop looks great in any landscape.\u00a0 Gold Mop is a great evergreen that can be used to accent an area or be used for a small screening plant.\u00a0 Plant Gold Mop where you want color and texture, especially when it\u2019s near other shrubs that have dark green foliage.<\/p>\n<h2>Here are some characteristic facts on Gold Mop Cypress:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It wants to be planted in full sun to partial shade.<\/li>\n<li>Very hardy for our region.<\/li>\n<li>Will grow to be 4\u2019 to 6\u2019 tall and just as wide ( be sure to plant in an area with these dimensions in mind).<\/li>\n<li>It is a low-maintenance plant \u2013 needs very little, if any, pruning, especially when given ample space and letting it grow naturally.<\/li>\n<li>It is drought-tolerant.<\/li>\n<li>It is not a favorite food for deer.<\/li>\n<li>Prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soil.<\/li>\n<li>It retains a good yellow color throughout the year.<\/li>\n<li>No serious insect or disease problems.\u00a0 But, do inspect for a pest like a bagworm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For this fall planting season, we have an excellent selection of Gold Mop Cypress.\u00a0 When you visit a garden center, such as ours, these Gold Mop Cypress are small and very appealing looking.\u00a0 At this point, I use the analogy of a cute little puppy when looking at the nursery stock.\u00a0 Like puppies, they will grow and mature.\u00a0 Please, just keep the eventual growing dimensions in mind when making any plant selection.\u00a0 It is all about the RIGHT PLANT \/ RIGHT LOCATION.<\/p>\n<p>HAPPY OCTOBER AND HAPPY
