5 EASY CARE FLOWERS FOR COLOR ALL SUMMER LONG<\/h3>\n

Yes, June has arrived.\u00a0 Summer will officially be here in a couple of weeks.\u00a0 So, the big question concerns planting.\u00a0 Yes, we can still be planting.\u00a0 We got some good soaking rain the middle of May which was much needed.\u00a0 Our soil temperature is now at 70 degrees.\u00a0 Bottom line, to be successful with planting this time of year is all about watering.\u00a0 You want to soak every plant while it is still in the pot.\u00a0 You want to water as you plant.\u00a0 And, then you need to stay on top of watering.\u00a0 Best way to water is by hand.\u00a0 A good slow soaking.\u00a0 The best time to plant would be early in the morning or in the evening\u00a0 –\u00a0 preferably not during the heat of the day.<\/p>\n

Now, with all this watering out of the way.\u00a0 Let\u2019s get down to business at hand about planting easy care flowers for summer color.<\/p>\n

To be happy with your selection of annuals it is all about \u201cright plant \/ right location.\u00a0 There are wonderful annuals that thrive in full sun and then there are annuals that thrive in shade.<\/p>\n

Here is my list of favorite annuals for both in sun and in shade:<\/p>\n

SUN ANNUALS<\/h4>\n

  1. Lantana<\/li>\n
  2. Angelonia<\/li>\n
  3. Salvia<\/li>\n
  4. Dahlia<\/li>\n
  5. Zinnia<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    SHADE ANNUALS<\/h4>\n

    1. Browallia<\/li>\n
    2. Sunpatien<\/li>\n
    3. Tuber Begonia<\/li>\n
    4. Diamond Frost Euphorbia<\/li>\n
    5. Torenia<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      You may notice some very common annuals not making my top five list such as marigolds, petunias, impatiens, geraniums, coleus, vincas \u2013 just to name a few.\u00a0 My mission with eliminating these annuals from my top five list is to get you to \u201cexpand your horizon\u201d when it comes to selecting annauls.<\/p>\n

      Enjoy adding some color in June.\u00a0 This is still a very good time to plant.<\/p>\n
