This plant gets its name because the Feng Shui practice believes that a Money Tree, when properly placed in a home or business, brings prosperity and good fortune. They are usually found with their trunk braided. The top of the Money Tree has the \u201clucky\u201d 5 lobed leaf arrangements.\u00a0 Most, if not all, of the plants that we have to offer you are all with braided trunks, which I find attractive.<\/p>\n<p>The Money Tree plant is native to Central and South America. So, it has to be inside during our colder, wintry months.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"922\">Light and Water Needs<\/h2>\n<p>A Money Tree plant grows best in medium to bright, indirect light. Water well until the water drains out of the drainage holes of the pot, and then let it dry out between waterings.<\/p>\n<p>Because they are native to the tropics, they like humidity. So, if your home is on the dry side, you can increase the humidity by placing the pot on a saucer filled with pebbles. Keep the saucer filled with water, and the evaporation will enhance the humidity of the area.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1415\" data-end=\"1441\">Feeding Your Money Tree<\/h2>\n<p>Feed plants monthly in the spring and summer when it is producing new leaves. Use a basic household plant food, such as Jack\u2019s 20-20-20, and dilute to \u00bd the recommended strength. For the fall and winter, feed the plant every other month at \u00bd the recommended strength.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1715\">Pruning and Pets<\/h2>\n<p>Money Trees rarely need to be pruned. For all pet lovers, Money Tree plants are non-poisonous to animals.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1825\" data-end=\"1852\">Repotting Your Money Tree<\/h2>\n<p>The Money Tree plant should be repotted every couple of years and used with a quick-draining potting soil. We recommend using our Espoma potting soil. The plants that we now have to offer you do NOT need to be repotted anytime soon.
