Meadows Farms recommends the following steps for creating a beautiful green lawn.<\/p>\n<h2>Prepare the soil<\/h2>\n<h3>Bare Spots and New Lawns<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove all debris from planting area<\/li>\n<li>Add 1\u2033 of Bloom Soil ( one cubic yard of Bloom Soil will cover approximately 300 square feet inch deep)<\/li>\n<li>Rototill<\/li>\n<li>Rake smooth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Overseeding<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Mow lawn as short as possible<\/li>\n<li>Rake thoroughly to remove thatch<\/li>\n<li>Aerate lawn to allow better air and water penentration into soil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fertilize planting area<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Use Pennington Lawn Starter per label recommendation<\/li>\n<li>Apply Fast Acting Lime 30 pounds per 5000 square feet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Select and planting seed<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Select grass seed based on light and traffic<\/li>\n<li>Spread seed evenly with a broadcast spreader<\/li>\n<li>Gently rake, working seed into soil about 1\/4\u2033<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Water<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Water daily to keep soil moist<\/li>\n<li>Do no allow top 1\/2\u2033 of soil to dry out until seedlings have fully emerged<\/li>\n<li>once grass becomes established , reduce watering to 1\/2\u2033 twice a week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Let Our Experts Handle Your Lawn Care<\/h2>\n<p>Meadows Farms specializes in lawn care offering weekly mowing, edging, and trimming to residents in the D.C. metro area.
